In four weeks of twenty minutes a day, double or triple your reading speed while keeping comprehension above 70 %, and walk away with a protocol to extract the essentials of a professional book in ninety minutes.
This module is for you if...
- Your pile of unread books grows faster than you read
- You reread the same line three times without taking it in
- You finish a book and could not name three of its ideas
- A 250-page professional book takes you three weeks
By the end of the module, you can do this
Verifiable skills, not impressions.
Measure your speed in words per minute and your comprehension rate objectively
Remove the three physiological brakes: subvocalisation, regressions, narrow fixations
Widen your fixation span to read in groups of words
Use a visual guide and sweep patterns suited to the medium
Skim, scan and read deeply according to your purpose, and know which to choose
Extract the structure and key ideas of a professional book in ninety minutes
Pair reading with a mind map so that it actually sticks
6 chapters, 16 lessons
Lessons marked with an open padlock are freely readable, in full.
Diagnosis: where you stand and what is slowing you down
Get an honest starting figure and identify your own brakes.

Eye mechanics: the foundational drills
Reprogramme how your eyes move. This is the heart of the training.

- 4.3Three-pass reading and the SQ3R methodProtocolThe reference strategy for difficult texts: three passes at different speeds.18 min
Retaining what you read
Turn reading into knowledge you can actually use.
- 5.1Pairing speed reading with a mind mapProtocolThe method for coming out of a book with a usable map, built while you read.17 min

About Speed Reading
Reading every word with comprehension intact, no: the physiology of eye movement caps out around six to seven hundred words per minute. Beyond that you are skimming, which means you are no longer reading every word. Skimming is a useful skill, taught in chapter 4, but we refuse to sell it as reading. The realistic and delivered aim of this module is to double or triple your speed while keeping comprehension above 70 %.
Temporarily yes, around the sixth to tenth day: you are de-automating a movement learned in childhood. Then it climbs back, and most people find it higher than where they started, because faster reading holds attention better and leaves less room for mind-wandering.
Thirty exercises across the sixteen lessons, each with a measurable success criterion. Your member space tracks which ones are done, and module progress counts them as much as the lessons read.
Yes, with two adaptations: use the cursor or the scroll as a visual guide, and narrow the column width using your browser's reading mode. Very long lines, common on the web, are the enemy of the fixation span.
You do not apply raw speed to those. You apply the strategy: preloading, three-pass reading, and slow full reading on the passages that carry risk. Chapter 4 deals with exactly this case, and its decision table tells you which strategy for which kind of text.
A pen as a guide, a card to cover with, a timer. The exercise book, the speed test and the metronome come with the module.
