Challenge: one hundred words in order
The end-of-chapter test. Five palaces of twenty stations, one hundred items, recall at day 1 and day 7.
The test
One hundred random words. Encoding: twenty minutes. Written recall in order: twenty minutes. Then a fresh test at D+1 and at D+7, with no revision in between.
This is the test that separates understanding from mastery.
Preparation: a hundred stations
Three options.
Option A, recommended. Five distinct places of twenty stations. Option B. One large place of a hundred stations: a museum, a long route, a shopping centre. Option C. One twenty-station palace in five atmospheres: snow, night, underwater, fire, desert. Economical, but more demanding.
Mark out and test every palace before the challenge. An untested palace will cost you about fifteen points.
